Who is behind DiabloChip? Developed by DiabloSport, a subsidiary of Programa Tools, Inc, a leader in automotive engine management programming. DiabloSport is unrivaled concerning automotive computer electronics experience. What is the DiabloChip? The DiabloChip is a state-of-the art high performance tuning chip, which advances the timing, optimizes the air/fuel ratio and remaps the transmission shift points (in automatic transmissions). Unlike other "tuners", DiabloSports programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and a more predictable power delivery.

The DiabloChip was created with one thing in mind, POWER! 10-25% increase in horsepower and torque, depending on application. The DiabloChips additional power makes itself noticeable immediately with an increase in power that starts in the low RPMs and builds into a frenzy at the high RPMs.

A DiabloChip equipped vehicle will notice significant improvements in drivability. The additional power and improved shift patterns created by the DiabloChip will yield quicker acceleration, firmer shifts, better mileage and improved towing characteristics. Whether it is in town or out on the highway towing an 8000lbs trailer. The power increase in the lower RPMs will yield a better throttle response; help maintain speeds on inclines and towing. The wider power band that the DiabloChip creates will be particularly noticeable in city driving, where speeds constantly change. The mid-to-upper power increase is extremely useful on the highway when passing slower vehicles and to quickly maneuver out of emergency situations. The increase in MPG is a byproduct of maximized engine efficiency, the improved timing curve and air/fuel ratio creates a more complete combustion, i.e. the engine extracts more power from each molecule of gasoline.

Powerstroke Owners:
DiabloSport offers several computer programs for the Powerstroke engine. Their standard chip will give you an increase of 54 HP and 110 lb-ft torque. Their second chip will give you about 78 HP and 150 lb-ft torque. From both of these chips, you will notice quicker acceleration and better throttle response. During towing conditions, the power gain is even more noticeable. If you tow under 8000 lbs, either chip will work great for you. If you tow over 8000 lbs you should install a exhaust pyrometer with the 78 HP chip as well as upgrade the exhaust system. The gauge and exhaust will help prevent exhaust temperatures from getting too hot.

With the 54 HP chip, you should gain about 2-4 mpg in fuel economy and with the 78 HP chip, you should gain about 1-2 mpg. The chip will also improve your transmission shift points. It will give you a firmer, more responsive shift pattern. Much like a shift kit but not as harsh. Unlike most of the other popular chips on the market the chip doesn't cause a "slamming" effect on the shift points. It gives you a progressively firmer shift. This means if you're lightly into the pedal the shift firmness is just slightly noticeable and if you're pedal to the metal, the shift firmness is much more noticeable. Lastly...unlike other chips available on the market, the Diablo chip plugs entirely inside the computer. This means you can reinstall your computer without having to make any modifications to the plastic computer sleeve in order for your computer to fit back into it's original location. Installation takes about 40 minutes and you should be able to install it yourself. Only two tools are required (10mm socket & 7mm socket).
